What feels like the end is only the beginning
It’s August 16 2016, our second day of senior year for class of 2017! I still remember back when I was in 8th grade me and my friend Karina would always wonder what it would feel to be a senior because we 8th graders and her sister was a senior. I remember i would ask her how she felt and she would always say it was exciting because they were the oldest. Then 2 years later my sister was a senior and I would ask her how she felt about it and she would always say that it was stressing but that it’s your last year being with your friends so to enjoy it to the max. Now I’m a senior! it’s exciting to know that we're the oldest and in about 8 months hope all of us will be graduating. At the same time It’s also sad to know that we won’t be seeing the same people we grew up with since elementary. Some of us will be leaving to go to college and some of us will stay here working or doing other things.
My goal is to be able to finish all of my classes on time so by the end of my senior year i don’t have be stressed and worried about not being able to get my diploma and walk with all my classmates. Another goal i have for this year is to get my GPA to a 3.5 or higher to be able to graduate with Spanish Honors. I’m really trying to get my GPA to a 3.5 because i promised my parents that I would graduate with honors because I know that would make them super proud of me. Also because i will the first one from my family to graduate with honors and that would be a huge accomplishment for me. Last year everyone would tell me to not pick hard classes because it would be stressed all the time and that’s not how my senior had to be. When i got my schedule i was really happy with the classes I got. I feel like only AP Spanish Literature and Chemistry will be the most challenging classes I have this year. Now if I start to notice that i'm falling behind on any of my classes I will stay after school with my LF to get extra support and not fall behind.
Throughout my high school years i have been involved in clubs and sports. I been involved in clubs such as My Voice, ASL, Key Club, Art Club, and Spanish Honors Society. I’ve learned a lot from these clubs and they thought me to be more responsible with the things I do. Now since it’s my senior year i want to get more involved in more clubs and i also want to do soccer again.I really enjoy being involved in clubs because i have met a lot of people that were just strangers to me and end up being some amazing people that i really enjoy being around with. Also I really enjoy when we have rallies and home games because I like to attend to them to show my cardinal spirit and support our teams.

Close to finishing my first semester of my last High School year
Journal 5
The first semester of my senior year is almost about to end, I have tried to stay on pace on all of my classes and so far i have been falling behind on my English class but I know by the end of this semester i'll finish on time. The one class I’m struggling a little bit more is with my AP Spanish literature class. That class happens to be one of my favorites because i enjoy how the teacher explains the topics and he has a good sense of humor, which makes the class be a lot much more funner and go by faster. I’m struggling because he wants us to turn in the work really fast and we have other classes other classes that we need to turn in work too so it just makes it harder to just focus in just one class. I know he just wants us to turn everything in so quick because he wants us to finish his class as soon as possible so we have time to focus on our other classes. So far during this semester so many good things have been happening to me and my family. We found out that my mom is having a baby boy and i also finally got a job. We’re all very excited to meet my baby brother because we have been waiting for him for 18 years and I’m finally going to be a big sister! I’m extremely happy that i got the job at McDermont because i help my dad pay some bills right now that my mother is not able to work and help him out. I enjoy the job because my coworkers are very nice and helpfull. I really like working there because i’m around kids and i really enjoy spending time with them and helping them out. It feels good getting paid every friday and saving my money for when i go to college. By this time i have already applied to to both COS and PC. I rather go to PC because i’ve heard that it’s a little bit harder but that the teachers help you more and care about you more than they do at COS. I have also applied for financial aid, so i hope they give me some money so it could be easier for me and my parents so we don’t have to be stressing about money for my books and materials that i will be needing during my college years. I also hope that I get to speak to a counselor from PC as soon as possible to talk to her about what classes does she recommend me to take to become an Licensed Vocational Nurse. For our senior projects we had to do our job shadow and i job showed an LVN. When i did my job shadow i was in between a License Vocational Nurse, teacher or a correction officer. I believe that becoming an LVN is what i see myself doing for the next 3 years. Then after 3 years i'm planning to go back to school to become a registered nurse. A register nurse interests me because i’m helping people and i’ll be getting paid for something I enjoyed.

Graduation getting closer
Journal 6
As the semester is getting closer to an end I have been able to catch up with all of my classes. I’m still struggling a bit with my AP Spanish Literature class for the same reason as always; it’s too much work for one class. The only thing that keeps me going in that class is knowing that when I move on to college I know I will be receiving a lot of credit for that class and if I pass my test at the end of the school year I will no longer have to be taking any Spanish class in college. This school year I really enjoyed our homecoming week. I’ve enjoyed seeing all my close friends be nominees for homecoming queens. I also really liked the dress up days that they have chosen for this year, and how a lot of people have been participating in the lunch activities. I’m very anxious for June 9th which will be the day that class of 2017 will be graduating. Also I’m very excited for the last rally that we will be having because it will be our last rally for us seniors and they will be showing pictures of all the things that we have accomplished throughout our high school years and all the memories that we have made with each other. My plans for the holidays are to work and try to do homework over the brake, but most important to spend time with the family. I believe that spending time with your loved ones is what should matter the most during this time of the year and to show how much we all love and care for each other. Another thing that I want to do during the brake is to take my parents to the snow because they have never been there and I know they will love it and it will be really fun. Yes, I’m very excited for it to be 2017! Like I said earlier this year will be the year I graduate and also because this year will be full with blessing for my family and me. In January baby David will be born, and then in February my aunt’s baby will also be born. Also I have recently found out that I was pregnant. At first the news scared me a little because I was worried about school. Now that I have talked to my counselor she has made me realize that if other girls can do it so can I. I know my little one will be giving me the strength to keep on working hard and not give up. I want my baby to feel very proud of me and of everything I will accomplished for the both of us. I know with my family’s support and knowing everything I do will be for my kid will get me through 2017 and I know it will be a year that I will remember for the rest of my life.
